Fresh Start is a family business from Diego Martin. The name is the story: a family that had to begin again, and has kept going for more than 30 years.
A new beginning, bottled.
In 1990, the Sun Kow family's produce business didn't survive the attempted coup. Four years later, with fruit from farmers who trusted them on credit, Patrick and Ena Sun Kow began again in their Diego Martin home.
They named it Fresh Start. It began with Caribbean Fruit Ice and Fresh Start Cordials, a staff of three, and a lot of determination. That's still what every bottle stands for.

A fresh start in La Puerta
With a staff of three and very little capital, Patrick and Ena Sun Kow launch Caribbean Fruit Ice and Fresh Start Cordials from a converted family home in Diego Martin.
- 2004
The second generation joins
Marcus Sun Kow comes into the business straight from university, later followed by his sister Khadine on finance and administration.
- 2012
From hand-made to machine-made
A grant helps mechanise production, so the same family recipes can be made at a scale the whole country can reach.
- 2014
Manufacturer of the Year
The Trinidad & Tobago Manufacturers' Association names Fresh Start its Manufacturer of the Year.
- 2016
A real factory in Diamond Vale
Production moves from a family home to a purpose-built facility in the Diamond Vale Industrial Estate, Diego Martin.
- 2019
25 years, and in every corner of T&T
Fresh Start marks its 25th anniversary, and a partnership with HADCO puts it into supermarkets, groceries and food service across Trinidad and Tobago.

Best Booth
Fresh Start wins Best Booth at the Trade and Investment Convention.

The next chapter
New drinks like Wefreshers, and plans for a bigger, better plant. As we say on the factory floor: the best is yet to come.
